The aim of WAT-NeW is to aid in the development of seeds and translational research (TR) through sharing information, holding conferences showcasing appropriate implementation strategies and development linkage, and contributing to the development of novel medical treatments in western Japan.

Utilizing the WAT-NeW network encourages seeds development and sharing TR information among academia in western Japan, consultation for promotion of appropriate development, and development linkage. Therefore, WAT-NeW will increase the chance of and accelerate the practical use of seeds from western Japan's academia.
